Seahawks Flock to the Rockies for Duel with Denver
[picappgallerysingle id="9751225"]So, it’s been another interesting week in Seahawksland. We lost second year offensive lineman Max Unger for the year to the dreaded..dun dun dun…. Turf Toe. So, next man up in the “Carrollsel”. A new guy must step in and follow the policies of Coach Pete. I believe we will make it, even without the impressive Unger. The reason is due to the veteran lineman John “Good Ol’ Boy” Schneider has acquired. The Wrotto Rotisserie has brought back Mansfield for another chance and I’m glad he got it. Our depth at line should scare me, but it doesn’t.
Last week, I didn’t know what to expect in our first game and I was pretty f’n excited with the dominance that took place on the field. I think we play a team this week that really doesn’t offer any scare as well. The biggest opponent the Seahawks struggle with is dun dun dun…The Road. But, with that being said, this is a new regime and the past is the past. I believe Sweet Pete will have our guys ready to buck the Broncos. I’m excited to see what the offense can do with a little more confidence. I really hope to see Golden Tate on the field. We’ve been told about how this guy can break it open… I wanna see it. Our offense gets me Seahawksually excited because of it’s big play potential, something Jim Mora and Greg Knapp destroyed last season. I still get an nasty shiver thinking about that offense.
The defense will be stronger this week IF the league let’s Leroy Hill play (Hey Commish, he supported his teammates, he didn’t storm the field, come on Rog). I’m a big fan of Leroy Hill and what he does ON the field. Let me put it this way, he doesn’t pass out stoned in his car,on the goal line, on 3rd down. He’s a solid backer and I can’t wait to have him switch in and out with “The Heater”, David Hawthorne. Let’s face it we have pretty rad LBs. I expect to see a bigger game out of Aaron Curry as well. Oh yeah, Lofa if you didn’t know I missed you, I missed you man. Nice to have you rockin’ the middle.
Here it is……I’m not scared of any coach named Josh. I’m not scared of any Quarterback named Kyle. I’m not scared of the Denver Broncos. George Carlin is laughing his ass off knowing that these are names of NFL personnel. F Denver, I believe we can give these ponies a push through 4 quarters and grab a win on the road.
Go get ‘em Pete, so we can keep the buzz building in the Emerald City, that’s Seattle, Josh and Kyle. ( I know you both read my blog)
HAWKA HAWKA HAWKA!!
Max Unger is OUT FOR THE SEASON! We will still go on!
[picappgallerysingle id="6506793"]This sucks, I’m not going to lie. But we will march on without Big Max. Pete and John will figure something out. Manny Wrotto has been broughtto back to help fill the hole left by Unger. WE MUST PERSEVERE!!!
Here’s some links about the damage.
Here’s what Mac’s Football Blog says about it.
I found this link from Herald Net on the return of Wrotto and the IR placed Unger.
The Seahawks website says this sad crap.
Still Feeling Good in Seahawksland
[picappgallerysingle id="9750548"]I’ve had a few days of pep in my step, steam in my stride and go in my gate. All because America’s Team (Yes, The Seahawks) came out and grabbed victory from the division rival San Francisco 49ers. We may have come out a little banged up on the offensive line, but I think we have some replacements to fill the void.
For some reason, I believe we have depth on this team. It feels like Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider have loaded up our depth at almost every position. Our Running Backs might not be the greatest but we do have some options. Both of our front lines seem to have replacements and bench guys that play. Now I know it’s like it’s a pile of Pro Bowlers but it’s depth. The defensive backs are young ( minus Trufant and Milloy) but they give us depth.
This week’s game in Denver is a good early season road test for the Hawks. Coach Carroll should have our dudes ready to roll into the Rocky Mountains for a road win.
I’m still feeling the effects of a Hasselbeck’s high from Sunday. He looked sharp and his enthusiasm got the team going. I know it’s only been one game but he looked like the 3-time Pro Bowler we know of from years past. Smart passes, good leadership and a winning edge.
It’s a good feeling for this Seahawks guy.
SEAHAWKS ROCK SAN FRANCISCO… PETE CARROLL STYLE
[picappgallerysingle id="9750394"]Going into yesterday’s game I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t on the “Niners are going to roll us” wave but I didn’t think we would outscore them by 25 points either. As I sat in my seats viewing this game, I had that same fun feeling I had a few years ago. A feeling where we actually controlled the game.
The first quarter was a little rough and the Niners dominated the clock but they had nothing to show for it. 6 points. And a lot of failed, macho 4th downs. Sorry Mike, take the points.
Now, let me say this……… THE SEAHAWKS DEFENSE was IMPRESSIVO!!! Good run defense and pass defense. No big plays given up throughout the entire contest. MARCUS TRUFANT was in PRO BOWL form. EARL THOMAS showed why he was selected in the first round. The pass rush helped force Alex Smith to make bad decisions. BIG BLAY BABS showed why he wanted to be on the team at a lower payrate! Great D!
The Seahawks offense gave me a nice blend of everything (minus the INT on the first play). Matt Hasselbeck didn’t have monster yardage but he put the ball where he wanted. In the flat, down the middle and along the sideline, Hasselbeck hit receivers and backs at will. We saw John Carlson get involved. We saw why Deion Branch is more valuable than TJ Houshmandzadeh and could eventually develop a chemistry like Bobby Engram had with Matt in the past. Here’s a fact… Mike Williams gets open. And when he’s open, he makes things happen. I think he got robbed on the TD but it was cool to see Matt scramble for the corner like he did in that Redskins playoff game in 2006. Deon Butler is fast. He can catch. He now catches TDs. Nice. I dug it. I like the Butler.
Today, I feel content with my Seahawks. Yes, it’s only been one game but it was electric at Qwest Field and Pete Carroll made all of this happen. It felt like Iwas watching USC beat ASU. Tough in the beginnng of the game and then BOOM they took over.
Nice work Coach, let’s keep it going.
Big Props to Carroll and Schneider for Seahawks Roster Shuffle
[picappgallerysingle id="9648343"]It had to be done Seahawks fans. Big changes had to happen to the roster and still need to happen. Seahawks management acted bold and aggressive for the first time in years. They acted strong, make moves on the existing team and not in the overspending on an aging free agent way (like Ruskell did). They cut out the mediocre, the injured, the unneeded and the dead weight. They held no attachment to anyone they didn’t feel helped the team this year or for the future.
In April, the duo of Pete Carroll and John Schneider earned high marks on their draft from many league experts. Yes, most of the high “A” grade came from having two first round picks but it’s what they did with the picks in that round and the following rounds that showed these guys have an eye for young talent. What they can do with established NFL talent and the Seahawks roster was the next task.
Over minicamps, training camp and preseason the evaluated talent and who deserves to be on Seattle’s NFL franchise.
I liked Jordan Babineaux, Housh and Josh Wilson. None of the three was a player thatcould put us over the edge or to hang our hat on. Sometimes in Seattle we get attached to players because our teams aren’t that good. So we become fans of moments and players to carry us through losing or disappointing seasons. Carroll and Schneider aren’t the type to give us a roster of fan faves or nice guys. I believe these guys are here to help us win and turn around an aging team that needed a massive overall.
Good bold moves front office. Now show us that you have a plan and that we can be on top of the west. We got used to being the best in the West and we deserve to conquer our division.
HAWKA HAWKA HAWKA!
