Released Seattle Seahawks RB LenDale White is likely facing a 4 game drug suspension, via Jason LaCanfora on Twitter. Jason opines that there are more reasons than a possible suspension for his release which will come out.

Is Lynch a Fit in Seattle Now?
With the Seattle Seahawks releasing RB LenDale White this afternoon, is a possible trade in the works for disgruntled RB Marshawn Lynch? Lynch has been staying away from Bills OTA’s so far this offseason and is only one member of crowded backfield joined with Fred Jackson, C.J. Spiller and undrafted rookie sensation Joique Bell.

Lynch logically seems the odd man out in Buffalo, and with him staying away from voluntary workouts doesn’t do much to strengthen his case to be on the 2010 roster for the Bills. Lynch is entering his 4th season in the NFL and recorded 2 1,000 yard rushing seasons for the Bills in his first two seasons. Last year, Lynch’s suspension over gun related charges which opened the door for fellow Buffalo RB Fred Jackson to showcase his skills and Lynch never returned to starter status.
Seattle executed a draft day trade to acquire LenDale White, and perhaps they should execute another trade to acquire Lynch. In Lynch’s second year with the Bills in 2008, he showcased his ability to catch balls out of the backfield, recording 47 receptions. That kind of ability would be useful in Seattle’s offense.
The Seahawks currently don’t have a premier #1 back on their roster and Lynch would fill the role nicely. This late in the season, players can be had in a buyers market, and the Seahawks should be buying Marshawn Lynch.
Seahawks to Release LenDale White, Lynch in the works?
News coming from the Seattle Seahawks OTA’s this week sounded good for LenDale White. He showed up at a svelte 219 pounds, down from his 265 weight during some playing days in Tennessee and he was all set to be reunited with his college coach, Pete Carroll, life was good for White.

But apparently things where not good in Seahawk Nation. According to Jason LaCanfora on Twitter, Seattle will be releasing White this week.
Seahawks will be releasing LenDale White after just a few weeks w/team. Wasn’t a good fit, according to a source. More on NFLN/NFL.com
This move will give the Seahawks only Julius Jones and Leon Washington in the backfield. Perhaps a trade for Marshawn Lynch is in the works? I don’t think Seattle wants to enter the 2010 campaign with Jones and Washington, who is recovering from a compound fracture of his leg.
Seahawk RB’s primed for big season
The Seattle Seahawks bolstered their running game this offseason by adding LenDale White and Leon Washington, both are looking forward to a big year for the ‘Hawks.

Washington suffered a compound fracture while playing for the New York Jets last season. Washington, 28, will be entering his fifth year in the NFL. Primarily used as a change of pace or third down back by the Jets, the Florida State grad has a career 4.8 rushing yards per attempt. Washington is a great receiver out of the backfield and should give Seattle a viable weapon when he’s on the field if he can return to pre-injury form.
“I had no doubt, no doubt at all, that I could come back. Once I got into that locker room and had a chance to talk with the doctors, I knew I’d have a chance to come back,” said Washington speaking to the media this week.

The other running back Seattle acquired was former Tennessee Titan LenDale White. White, who has dealt with weight issues during his career at times played weighing as much as 265 pounds but showed up at Seattle OTA’s as a slimmed down 219 pound player. White was relinquished to the bench most of last season, rushing for a career low 222 yards as Chris Johnson rolled up the yardage. Speaking of Johnson, White believes the Titans should break open the checkbook for Johnson. “He’s a 2,000 yard rusher so whatever he asks for, he should be able to get.” The chance to play with Seattle this season, reunites White with his college coach Pete Carroll from his USC days.
TO’s next destination. Seattle?
The Seattle Seahawks are now officially on the list of possible destinations for veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens. Rumors have linked TO to Cleveland, Washington, Oakland, and a possible reunion in Buffalo, now Seattle.
